"I was following Robbie just before the intermediate sprint and we were just about to pull a breakaway back when Ullrich and Armstrong decided to jump down the left side of the road.
"The bunch went to the right, Robbie got through the gap but my team mate got blocked and so I had two choices, hit him and fall off or hit the brakes.
